kyc.vote brings together publicly available information on the candidates and incumbents on your ballot — from congressional districts to the presidency — so you can research the people running for office in one place. Our goal is to give every voter the context to make informed choices for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Where the data comes from

Information on kyc.vote is drawn from public sources including the Federal Election Commission (FEC), BallotReady (for certified ballot candidates and election dates), Congress.gov, Wikipedia, and publicly indexed news coverage. Finance figures come directly from FEC filings. Voting records are sourced from Congress.gov. Candidates and their campaign staff may also submit position statements directly through our campaign portal, which are reviewed before publication and clearly labelled as candidate-provided.

A note on accuracy

What we don't do

kyc.vote is non-partisan. We do not endorse candidates, accept advertising, or receive funding from political parties, PACs, or campaigns. All candidates are presented on equal footing.

Supporting open civic data

kyc.vote relies on publicly available data from organisations like BallotReady, which maintains comprehensive databases of certified candidates and elections and makes them available to civic projects. Keeping this kind of non-partisan infrastructure free and up to date takes sustained funding.
